Voting for Your Separate School Board Trustee

Voting for Your Separate School Board Trustee

On October 16, 2017, you have the opportunity to vote for, along with your mayor and councilor, your separate school board trustee. For some of you, this may be your first trip to the polling booth. Below is some useful information:

Who can vote?

  • You are at least 18 years of age on election day
  • You are a Canadian citizen
  • You have lived in Alberta for at least the six consecutive months immediately preceding election day (since April 16, 2017)
  • You are a resident of Calgary, Airdrie, Cochrane or Chestermere  on election day (in the case of the Calgary Catholic School District)
  • You live in the ward(s) in which you are voting
  • You are eligible to vote for a separate school board trustee if you are Catholic. If you are Catholic, you may not vote for a public trustee.

How to Vote

  • Bring required identification to your polling station on October 16th, where the returning officer will assist you

Information on the location of polling stations, advance voting and mail in voting will be published in late September.
